Senior Manager, EPIC Marketing & Communications
New York, NY
Organization Description
In 2000, New Leaders for New Schools was founded to confront the growing issues in public education. We base our work on clear evidence that effective principals are fundamental levers to school improvement and student achievement, and the belief that all children, regardless of circumstance, can achieve academic success. Our mission is to ensure high academic achievement for every student by attracting and preparing outstanding leaders and supporting the performance of the urban schools they lead at scale. In this vein, our vision is that one day every student will graduate from high school ready for success in college, career, and citizenship. To transform America’s failing schools, we continue to grow and refine our program, provide our leaders and partners with support, build capacity for system-wide change, and advocate for policy reform based on organizational learning.
Since our inception, we have trained almost 700 leaders who serve twelve urban areas: Baltimore and Prince George’s County, MD; Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Memphis, TN; Milwaukee, WI; New Orleans and Jefferson Parish, LA; Newark, NJ; New York, NY; the Bay Area, CA; and Washington, D.C. Nationwide, our leaders currently serve more than 250,000 students.
