The Director of Financial Aid at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC)is responsible for the policy procedure and day-to-day operations of the Financial Aid Office. The daily operations include management, planning, organization, administration of financial aid awards, and federal student loans.
This position requires an individual who has excellent technological and financial management skills who can effectively use student information systems, as well as someone who feels called to work closely with students.
The Director of Financial Aid takes a systems approach to addressing the guidelines and regulations established by the U.S. Department of Education, the State of Illinois, the LSTC Board of Trustees, accrediting bodies and the specific guidelines of the ELCA's various entities. This approach is to assure that the processing and administration of financial aid both complies with federal and state regulations, and provides aid to students in an efficient and effective manner.
Other entities the Director relates to are outside scholarship granting entities as well as the finance, advancement, technology and communications offices at LSTC. The Director works closely with the Director of Admissions and recruitment team, specifically in the offering and awarding of institutional aid for recruitment purposes.
