Great Expectations of a New Generation

Generation Y employees - those born between 1980 and 1994 - are expected to make up 40% of the workforce in the next five years. Research by Drake International indicates that on average:

86% of Gen Y employees expect to be promoted within two years;
63% will stay less than two years in a job; and
52% think finding new employment is easy.

According to the study, training and development opportunities, work flexibility and good working relationships will probably be more effective than pay at attracting and retaining Generation Y employees.
