Psychiatrist Part Time

Reports to: Medical Director Department:

Wayside Campus and Community Services Department

Classification: Regular Part-Time Employee, Exempt

Job Summary:

Provide psychiatric consultation, evaluation and psychopharmacological treatment to Wayside clients at Wayside's residential and acute care Campus, and Wayside community service site(s). The Psychiatrist will serve as a member of Wayside's multidisciplinary team and provide consultation to the clinical and nursing departments. The Psychiatrist is expected to act professionally and in a manner that is consistent with Wayside's core service values: resiliency, excellence and diversity.

Essential Functions:

• Provide on site psychiatric evaluation and psychopharm services to referred adolescents.

• Provide consultation to the adolescent's family by phone or at the clinic.

• Monitor medication needs and prescribe medications as necessary and ongoing psychiatric follow-up.

• Supervise Clinical Nurse Specialist(s)/NPs as directed. Document supervision as required by licensing regulations and Wayside policies.

• Maintain contact with collateral agencies as needed.

• Maintain expected productivity levels.

• Attend clinical rounds on a weekly basis - serve as a consultant within the clinical and nursing departments regarding psychopharmacological issues

• Complete all required clinical, administrative and billing paperwork in a professional and timely manner.

• Participate in educational opportunities as required by professional licensing boards.

• Attend supervision meetings with supervisor as scheduled.

• Adhere to all agency policies and procedures.

• Maintain interdisciplinary expectations by reviewing treatment plans and progress.

• Improve staff competence by providing training and discussions regarding the interrelationship between behavioral and medical arenas.?

Job Qualifications: The job description is not restricted by this document. Other duties may be assigned as warranted MD in child psychiatry with a minimum of two years experience. MA License and Board Certified (or eligible) in child psychiatry.
