Solution Sales Specialist - High Performance Computing

Division: Sales As a High Performance Computing Solutions Specialist for UK, you will work with customers and partners across all vertical markets to build a pipeline of Windows Server Compute Cluster opportunities, and drive these opportunities through sales stage to closure. Working together with your colleagues within the UK you will share your knowledge to help build Microsoft’s presence in the HPC workload area.

Team/Department Mission
The UK Incubation Sales team builds up new and acquired businesses inside Microsoft. The UK HPC sales team will build up Microsoft’s Compute Cluster Edition sales across the UK region.

Key Accountabilities
Responsible for the success of Microsoft’s HPC solutions in the UK market.
Responsible in identifying opportunities for Microsoft HPC solutions in customers and driving those opportunities through the sales cycle,.
Working with key partners (ISV, OEM etc) to ensure readiness in the partner community and also to ensure availability of specific solutions across various market sectors
Raising awareness of the HPC workload inside the Microsoft Specialist Community by providing skills transfer and training where required.
Providing feedback from the UK market and from to the product group
Identifying customers for early adopter and beta testing of new HPC technology in the UK.

Key Success Criteria
The ability to create, identify and qualify opportunities, drive opportunities through the sales cycle to closure, block competitive scenarios, understand customer issues and convincingly represent Microsoft’s technologies to customers and partners are key.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential Experience
Solution Selling experience - proven success with enterprise customers, working knowledge of solution-selling strategies and tactics and business value selling.
Proven experience in Enterprise software sales, enterprise consulting or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience and success engaging with senior executives in a sales process and working with leading consulting, systems integrator and major computer vendors.
Proven track record in High Performance Computing / Cluster / Grid technology sales, with a preference focus in Financial Services.

Technical / Functional Skills
Strong understanding of the High Performance Computing workload, business, application (ISV) partner ecosystem and competitive landscape.
Strong understanding of Industry specific business processes which generate the HPC workload and mission critical systems and technologies in this space, ideally with a strong focus Financial Services.

Personal Attributes / Interpersonal Skills
The ideal candidate will have a strong background is sales and be familiar with solution selling techniques.

Naturally the candidate will have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, analytical and presentations skills, and exceptional decision-making, conflict resolution, problems solving and negotiation skills. A desire to build businesses is an essential quality.

Qualifications
Holders of a degree-level qualification

Special Requirements/Additional Information e.g. Language skills
Requirement for frequent travel to customers around the UK, periodically around the EMEA region.

Salary:- £56,000 to 75,000 basic salary, plus bonus and excellent benefits package
Location:- Reading
