Manage a team of OEM Marketing Managers, & work closely with SMSP & Business Group Leads, to design, develop, execute and evaluate a range of demand generation activities both to and through the OEM partner channel. Strong engagement with OEM Marketing teams at EMEA and Corporate headquarters will be required. OEM marketing is funded from different sources and thus aggregation and management of budget allocation, forecasting, MAPSS and COF’s completion is required.
Moving forward we need to take learnings from the various marketing execution elements and demonstrate a clear return on the investment. These learnings should inform and evolve OEM marketing to the next level.
Team/Department Mission
The OEM team owns the OEM segment & is responsible for all OEM revenue & customers for the UK Subsidiary. Our goal is to consistently grow revenue of Windows, Office & Server products whilst increasing the satisfaction of all the OEM partners (Multinational, Named, Retail, Distributor, DMR, System Builder). Incorporated into this responsibility is overall revenue and unit growth, channel management, reduction of unlicensed PCs and design wins.
OEM is part of the broader Partner ecosystem and alignment with SMSP & other business groups and strategic Microsoft initiatives is critical to success.
Key responsibilities
Leadership & team development
Provide marketing leadership to the OEM Marketing Managers (3 FTEs & 2 FTC) ensuring effective use of resources, efficient deployment of skills & information exchange to enable high quality marketing practices.
Hire & train OEM Marketing Managers
Set overall marketing objectives for the team consistent with local & global business objectives.
Ensure personal development plans are in place in conjunction with providing timely performance feedback and proactively address any areas of deficiency.
Ensure strategic alignment, resource allocation, results reporting and feedback processing with key stakeholders in the UK, EMEA & WW teams.
Lead & drive one of cross team initiatives - the Office Ready PC plan & office 2010 launch execution.
Partner Marketing
Create & implement OEM marketing plan ensuring alignment with business priorities
Budget ($5M) management to meet UK & Corp milestones
Effective measurement/tracking of marketing investment
Drive marketing innovation with OEM partners to support market innovations/incremental revenue opportunities
Drive marketing thought leadership in UK, EMEA & Corp teams

Internally, the ability to lead by influence and co-ordinate cross-group initiatives between product groups, sub/regions BGs and HQ is very important in this role.
Key Success Criteria
1. Develop & execute an integrated marketing plan to achieve revenue, mix & satisfaction targets. Specific targets have been set for each part of the partner channel.
2. People management & development to attain a high performing OEM team, measured by manager feedback and MS Poll scores.
3. Clear Office Ready PC plan & Office 2010 launch plan and progress tracking
4. Marketing budget sourced, managed, forecast and spent in accordance with OEM guidelines
5. Raise levels of partner experience & satisfaction with Microsoft
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
1) Essential Qualifications & Experience
Marketing qualification (degree or post graduate qualification)
Proven Marketing Experience, ideally within the channel
Strong leadership experience and proven people management experience, both direct line management and influencing others.
Ability to build relationships long term sustainable & profitable partnerships to achieve mutual goals.
Strong channel & industry knowledge, including: hardware standards (processors, displays, storage and networking), operating systems, PC software, distribution and sales channels.
Must have strong presentation skills to groups of all sizes
Excellent collaboration and communications kills to work cross-group functions, teams, geographies and within a worldwide framework.
Ability to leverage MS products and services to help the customers develop complex business and market opportunities.
Salary Package:- £65,000 to 80,000 basic salary, plus bonus and excellent benefits package
Location:- Reading
