Division: IT The DPE Customer team requires a Developer Evangelist to work on driving early adoption customer engagements. This role will also support broader DPE evangelism objectives, particularly around integrating application development/design partners/agencies into adoption engagements and the breadth evangelism of specific Developer Tools relevant to this audience. This role will be a trusted advisor and thought leader, managing relationships with Senior Developers, Software Architects, Web Designers & influencers as required.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience and “expert level” knowledge regarding the architecture of software across multiple development platforms; and must be able to talk intelligently and accurately about both Microsoft’s’ and competitors’ developer tools and visions.

Responsibilities include:
Being a thought leader in the area of software development addressing rich applications and compelling user experience (focus on Microsoft Expression Suite for Windows and web based applications)
Being a go-to point for providing technical competitive insight on technologies that compete with Microsoft’s development tools (focus on Adobe & Open Source offerings)
Forging deep (trusted advisor) relationships with senior developers/architects in customers, partners and key influencers.
Leading the software development/design elements to scope and deliver technical proof-point engagements (e.g. Architecture Design Sessions, Proof of Concepts in the Microsoft Technology Centre) with customers and partners to drive early adoption wins on the Microsoft platform.
Supporting the DPE Customer, DPE Developer Sales, & DPE Partner teams to deliver complex, innovative and inspiring compete wins.
Engaging breadth technical audience ( evangelism and community engagement activities; internal/external customer/partner briefings, external speaker events/conferences, webcasts, papers, blogs and so on)
Deliver and facilitate where appropriate, technology show-cases, demonstrations and deliverables, to both wow customers, partners and other audiences (developers, designers, ITPro, and compete).

Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to:
Collaborate effectively across groups and as a member of virtual teams
Build high value relationships with customers and partners, both in software development and design
Present/communicate inspirationally; ability to move people & build emotional connections, one to one and one to many.
Understand why design matters in software development; cognitive/intuitive/compelling design.
Envision solutions that respond to both the current and future needs of customers

Candidates should have a strong technical background and a passion for user experience/application design, working in application development/design services organisations delivering into big brand customer accounts. Experience should include deep knowledge & experience using Microsoft Expression & Visual Studio Suite Tools and Windows/Web & competitive development related technologies. An understanding of service orchestration (web-services),and application integration technologies (Microsoft & Competitors) is desirable

Candidates should have an appreciation of security, reliability, scalability and platform management topics and understand how to deploy solutions. Experience is also key in the area of web application delivery and optimisation methods to effectively design, build, deploy and maintain optimal web/consumer facing applications/services.

Candidates must have exceptional communication and presentation skills. In this role the individual will need to maintain knowledge about multiple versions of the same product and speak to future releases. A BS in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or related discipline is desirable.

Salary: £60,000 - 80,000 basic salary plus bonus and excellent benefit package
Location: Reading
