The Worldwide Financial Services Industry (WW FSI) is responsible for driving strategic business development within the Global marketplace of Banking, Insurance and Capital Markets. Its goal is to establish Microsoft as a leading solutions provider to the FS Industry, provide strategic industry leadership and to drive Microsoft revenue.
This senior role within Microsoft is intended to build a successful and sustainable business in a major growth area for Microsoft.
It will involve the management, development and maintenance of world class solutions for the Banking & Capital Markets Industry and our customers. Providing the business leadership, team management, ideas, material and delivery to better enable the Microsoft the field, our customers and our partners to meet and exceed their business objectives.


Responsibilities/Activities include:
Long term Vision and Strategy for vertical - Identify trends within the industry and emerging opportunities; create a vision that reflects corporate and enterprise sales strategy; develop execution plan; facilitate messaging ; ensure vision and strategy is well communicated; measure outcomes; validate strategy with relevant industry stakeholders
Solution set definition - Create/leverage/develop the priority industry solution scenarios for vertical; develop solution map to identify white space; establish value propositions for solutions; Provide Industry content for Marketing Bill of Materials; identify build and maintain partner relations
Partner Alignment - Team with the partner teams to align vertical solution priorities; develop partner solution offerings for solution areas; select and segment partners; provide guidance to identify and develop partners; evangelize industry vision and strategy with key partners and win commitment
Develop internal community - Lead rhythm of the business sessions; Assist in development, support and training of internal industry aligned resources to ensure consistency; define and deliver communications plan; advise field sales; participate in key personnel selection; support the execution of marketing campaigns
Field execution that leads to industry wins - Drive business development via industry and solutions strategy; assist in defining and coordinating marketing plans; Contribute to, review, and sign-off on all vertical/industry-specific marketing materials and collateral; consult in the development of target account plans; support the development of specific strategic opportunities; initiate and support case study development; meet with key customer executives to identify and advance opportunities; collaborate with services division to advance solution success
Informed External Industry Community - Participate in analyst briefings, press engagements, symposiums and partner user-groups to represent Microsoft’s position in the industry; Sponsor key industry events; Monitor, prioritize and select appropriate standard bodies for engagement; Influence the customer and partner advisory boards for the vertical; Develop materials to articulate the strategy.

• Overall revenue for WW Banking & Capital Markets
• Compelling and crisp (targeted/relevant) industry vision and strategy
• Consistent taxonomy, standards, language and terms
• Bill of Materials (BOM) for the priority solutions is relevant, current, and effective
• Priority solutions being executed in field
• Partners demonstrate commitment to Microsoft’s vision, strategy and industry program
• Balance of partner resources among ‘recruit’, ‘build’, and ‘execute’ dimensions to fill gaps in industry solution sets
• Microsoft sales teams able to articulate the industry vision and strategy
• Provide guidance and advice to product teams to satisfy industry needs
• Use of key relationships to support renewal of Enterprise Agreements
• Customers look to Microsoft for industry strategy and guidance
• Customers proactively seeks solutions from Microsoft
• Microsoft holds meaningful business discussions with line of business (LOB) executives
• Qualified pipeline
• Business Management - people and budgets


This role is responsible for the overall strategy and success of Microsoft within the Banking & Capital Markets Industry. This role is core to the Financial Services vertical and to Microsoft overall responding to the strategic challenges within the enterprise space. As such it is integral in the development of the Financial Services Industry and vertical strategy and is close execution to overall Microsoft go to market strategies. The role will have to work in close collaboration with the product teams, partner teams, Services, Marketing and the Enterprise & Partner Group (EPG).

The person would ideally have at least 15-20 years deep experience within Banking & Capital Markets either from the customer side or the partner side.
