Sr. Program Manager

Purpose: Microsoft’s Executive Engagement (EE) organization is looking for an experienced technical program manager with excellent project management and communication skills to manage the EE data management and business intelligence program. This role has direct responsibility for managing the processes and technologies that seamlessly connect engagement planning and reporting through to the world-class customer experience provided at our global Executive Briefing Centers (EBC), Microsoft Technology Centers (MTC) and through executive events, executive profiling and account sponsorship. This role will drive the development and launch of the next-generation tool set critical to success of the above programs, and specifically in depth for the global EBC/MTC programs. Additionally, this role works closely with EE leadership to enhance the BI strategy for the EE team, including development of long term strategic direction for tools and reporting, driving the monthly reporting cadence and deliverables, and leading the tool and reporting change management process. The ideal candidate will have a mix of technical skills and business acumen.

Responsibilities:
Lead the end to end project that will deliver the EBC/MTC next generation application to the global community, including vendor selection, capturing business requirements, feature functionality specs, software development and testing process and release activities.
Develop the long term business intelligence program strategy and infrastructure to support Executive Engagement and key stakeholders, managing the reporting services vendor team, aligning resources to support overall business objectives and reporting requirements
Work with the EE leadership team to develop solutions that support deeper understanding of customer and partner needs and behavior, delivering business insights that enable sales, improve “data” productivity, decrease engagement costs, and improve overall satisfaction
Drive the prioritization of business needs and ensure that key business capabilities are represented in the prioritization, design and delivery of the Exec Engagement reporting systems
Performing business validation of the solution data architecture and logical data model, and performing and managing analytical functions to support the decision making of various business units, marketing stakeholders and executive management
Requirements:
Candidate will be expected to demonstrate a clear history of project ownership, managing internal and external dependencies, understanding complex technologies and successfully delivering tools/applications to a global audience, contributing heavily in owning/driving the product/initiative strategy and trade-offs.
Proven ability to think strategically about business issues and analyze, organize and integrate large amounts of complex, disparate information into clear, concise specs and actions plans is a must.
Strong business intelligence, reporting, and analytics experience needed.
Candidates must have excellent communication and project management skills as well as a passion for technology and reporting solutions. Experience with large scale projects within IT helpful.
Experience managing vendor teams, developing scopes of work/key performance indicators (KPI), managing performance to contract KPI’s, forecasting budget requirements and managing within budget.
Candidate will understand data warehouse and business intelligence industry standards, technology trends, global implications and best practices and ability to apply this knowledge to ensure management of opportunities and risks in development and maintenance of business intelligence solutions
Excellent interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships across groups and management levels

Qualifications:
7 - 9 years of related experience
5+ years successful management of small to medium sized virtual teams of 5 - 10 people or direct people management experience
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.)
Working knowledge of MSFT Solutions Framework or the Initiative Management Framework
Advanced degree(s) or experience in business management in the technology industry is a plus
Technical knowledge of Sharepoint, MS CRM and SQL Server 2008 (Analytics) features and functionality is a plus.
