Accounting Clerk / Financial Assistant



JOB OPPORTUNITY: Seeking a qualified candidate to join the City of Apalachicola, Finance Department. Responsibilities will include financial activities such as but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and bank reconciliations. Strong computer and organization skills are a must. Knowledge of QuickBooks software required. Additional responsibilities may include other accounting functions such as making journal entries, financial analysis, budgeting and tracking income and expenses, obtaining and maintaining insurance policies, and other internal processes to assist in financial tracking and reporting for city departments. The ideal candidate for this position is organized, adaptable, detail-oriented and able to work independently. Experience in one or more financial areas including bookkeeping, internal auditing or general accounting is required. Starting Salary is $36,000 annually plus benefits. Starting salary is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications. Valid Florida driver's license required.
