Position: The Harbert College of Business at Auburn University seeks applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor with the ability to teach business analytics. This position is intended to provide support for the College's growing programs in business analytics and information systems management by contributing to the increasing research, teaching, and outreach requirements of the programs.

Qualifications: Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Decision Sciences/Management Science, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field upon start date.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Evidence or potential of the development of a strong research record based primarily in analytics or management information systems.

  • Evidence of teaching and/or research interests in business analytics or management information systems.

  • Evidence of the ability to teach a variety of courses in the business analytics or management information systems programs at all levels, especially courses of a more technical nature.

  • Selected candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of appointment and continue working legally for the term of employment.

  • Excellent written, organizational and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities: Successful applicants are expected to engage in high-quality research, evidenced by publications in leading academic journals, teach courses in the business analytics and management information systems programs, and contribute to developing the future path for the department's growing programs.

About the Program: The Business Analytics program is one of the few undergraduate majors in business analytics in the United States. Over 200 students currently identify as Business Analytics majors. The program is distinct from, yet complementary to, the management information systems major housed in the same department. The faculty supporting these two programs consists of an Eminent Scholar and eight additional tenure track faculty, five lecturers, and one person dedicated to the professional development of business analytics and management information systems students. The faculty are actively involved in ICIS and SIGDSA, IFIP, and HICSS. The program also educated doctoral students in business analytics and management information systems.
