Job Description

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation through close. The Business Development Specialist develops and implements the agreed upon marketing plan which will meet both personal and business goals by expanding the customer base. The Business Development Specialist works with operations and sales support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with company vision and values.


Responsible for the sales of all POS services.
Demonstrates technical selling skills and product knowledge in all aspects of service offerings.
Focuses on meeting or exceeding sales goals defined by the business plan.
Complete understanding of pricing and proposal models.
Demonstrates the ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision makers and develop a lasting rapport.
Effectively manages the sales process from initial contact and qualification through the sale, keeping the Territory Manager informed of progress.
Sells consultatively and makes recommendations to prospects and clients of the various solutions the company offers to their business issues.
Develops leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling on business owners, direct mail, email, and networking.
Schedules and conducts product demonstrations at prospects’ site or via web conference.
Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, product demonstrations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within their assigned territory including entering sales pipeline and sales activity into the company CRM system.
Creates and conducts effective proposal presentations that identify prospects’ business problems, the effects of the problems, and the solutions to their problems.
Works with the technical team to install system components at customer location
Ensures correct functionality of all components at customer location
Trains new customers on system setup and use
Maintains accurate records of all installation and technical support activities including entering and updating service tickets in the company CRM system.
Develops and maintains knowledge regarding trends and developments in the restaurant POS industry.
Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
Participates and contributes to the development of educational programs offered to clients, prospects and company employees.
Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of Client Satisfaction.
Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
Maintains professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values.
Proactively establishes and maintains effective working team relationships with all support departments and business partners.
Develops referral partner relationships through professional networking.


3-6 years of experience in the hospitality/retail industry
Experience with POS solutions and restaurant/retail management processes
Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
Self-motivated and driven to achieve results, meet goals and continuously improve.
Strong selling and negotiation skills, including the ability to open a sales call, uncover customer needs, link product benefits to those needs, overcome customer objections/indifference and close the sale
Excellent communication skills, including writing, speaking and listening
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize
Ability to quickly learn and keep current with product and industry knowledge
Experience with sales CRM systems preferred
Valid driver’s license and operating vehicle
