BUSINESS MANAGER



PRIMARY PURPOSE: Reporting to the COO, the Business Manager will be a key resource to the Operations Leadership Team and lead the execution of key recurring elements of NTFB Operations such as communications, operational measurement & reporting rhythms, operational modeling & planning, cross-team coordination for strategic/reactive & best practice sharing. The duration of this position will be from July 2020 - December 2020.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



Education/Certification:



• Undergraduate degree in business, management, finance, or related field



• MBA strongly preferred

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



• Communications



o Communicate on organizational performance as needed to Board, National/State Associations & External Affairs (Marketing, PR & Fundraising)



o Communicate to Ops Team on organizational compliance, training, priorities & change



• Business Measurement & Rhythms



o Refine & manage execution of business reporting cadence – monthly/quarterly business reviews, initiative/priority reviews & Board reporting



o Scorecard management – Extract operational trends & insights from operational data, balance scorecard targets for optimized organizational performance & continuous improvement, administer follow-through on response actions across team, assist in data governance, perform ad hoc deep dives on areas of risk, concern or interest



o Conformance – Ensure budgetary conformance around cost, headcount & meals



o Strategic Planning – Sets agenda & manages strategy reviews & sessions



• Operational Planning



o Lead KPI selection & target-setting activities



o Serve as primary liaison to Accounting & Finance



o Develop & execute forward-looking operational scenario models



o Enable business decision-making via Business Intelligence



• Cross-Team Coordination



o Drive & monitor the execution of strategic initiatives



o Develop & monitor reactive responses to operational risks & misses



o Enable dynamic budget management, particularly as related to COVID



o Lead agenda-setting & logistical planning for team events



• Escalation Management



o Assess inquiries to determine proper course of action & delegation within Ops Team



• Best Practice Sharing



o Leads & drives collaboration & information sharing with other food banks



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:



• This position has no direct reports.
