1. Experience in estimating with public agencies.

2. Must have the ability to conceptually budget, meet deadlines.

3. Experience with construction drawings, specifications, architectural sketches.

4. Good computer skills ( MS Office/Excel/revit/Autocad/timberline)

5. Must have estimated projects from $3,000,000 to $100mm.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Prepare bid packages.

2. Prepare quantity take-offs and estimates on various projects.

3. Prepare Submittal packages.

4. Develop relationships with clients.

5. Coordinate, budget, prepare and analyze bids for large and small scale projects.

6. Develop spreadsheets and prepare bid documents provide other services such as change order pricing, site visits.

7. Other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Detailed plan and specific analysis, write pre-bid RFI, and distribute bid addenda.

  • Analyzes specifications including sketches, blueprints, bills of material or sample layouts, and calculates costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data.

  • Solicit, obtain, evaluate and qualify subcontractor scope and proposals.

  • Identify scope gaps and overlaps from trade to trade.

  • Prepare complete detailed cost estimates for entire project.

  • Prepare complete detailed scope qualifications for entire project.

  • Identify and evaluate bid alternates and strategic value engineering / cost saving options.

  • Ability to evaluate and understand overall project concepts for all trades.

  • Work with Chief Estimator, Project Managers and Superintendents to determine general conditions requirements on a per-bid basis.

  • Prepare and assemble auxiliary deliverables for client RFP/Bid packages; Team Profile, Team Resumes, Project Approach, Project Schedule.

  • Maintain current vendor database and update vendor information.

  • Must be able to prepare a comprehensive estimate and proposal for the G.C. or owner

  • Must possess good sales abilities, including being able to negotiate job costs (material and labor) to help ensure an award

  • Maintain current unit prices and cost analysis.
