The Role


The Marketing Campaign Manager is a critical position for Carbonite's corporate business. Our Marketing Campaigns help us achieve our growth expectations by driving leads, pipeline, and new customers. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Demand Generation, this person will be responsible for building the strategy and overseeing execution of our demand generation programs, work cross-functionally to improve our content strategy, and lead our ABM initiatives by working with internal teams and external agencies to develop impactful and integrated marketing campaigns.

Specific Objectives and Responsibilities


Your First Six Months:


  • Understand our internal and external teams and how we operate to bring campaigns to market.
  • Familiarize yourself with our predictive analytics tool, our media channels, and our measurement strategy.
  • Understand our historical results for all programs including display advertising, retargeting, paid social media, paid search, content syndication, and webinars.
  • Build a strategy for our ABM segments and work cross-functionally to ensure proper execution and results.
  • Build reports to understand performance of existing programs and better allocate marketing spend on a regular basis.


Six to Twelve Months and Beyond:

  • Fully own strategy and oversee execution of our Server Backup and Recovery campaign.
  • Track performance and optimize our ABM segments via multiple channels with the support of our media agency.
  • Be a source of feedback for our content marketing team, sharing priorities for content creation and themes that drive increased engagement from our target audience.
  • Apply digital marketing skills to optimize our landing pages, paid programs, and marketing spend to more leads more efficiently through the funnel and increase our marketing contribution to pipeline.


Key Challenges to Overcome


The main challenge of this role is that it requires not only a great balance of analytical and soft skills, but also requires the candidate to be excellent at orchestration and at working through others. A campaign manager's responsibility includes getting things done through other people, which requires high levels of accountability and proactiveness. That said, it also brings a lot of visibility to the role and opportunities to grow as part of the team.

  • Demonstrated leadership capability in cross-functional team environments
  • High degree of comfort with complex technical environments
  • Having and being able to articulate/defend an informed opinion on important topics


Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years' experience executing and managing impactful integrated campaigns.
  • Advanced digital demand generation knowledge including content syndication, webinars, SEM, email marketing and other digital marketing channels.
  • Demonstrated experience running ABM campaigns successfully.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and systems expertise, including Salesforce.com, Marketo, and analytical tools to extract insights and track performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills, both written and oral, and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Google AdWords and Google Analytics certifications are a plus.
