As the Engineering Technician, you will develop, test and integrate hardware, optical and electrical subsystems under direction of Systems Engineering manager to enable the desired functionality of existing and future semiconductor process metrology products and technologies. You will support the life cycle of new products, test and qualify new product configurations and specifications, with an emphasis on reliability, maintainability and cost. You will also support safety and related compliance certifications, develop new applications, procure materials or services in support of engineering directives as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Installation, testing and troubleshooting equipment

  • Completion of test plans, and any other necessary tasks delegated by the supervising engineers and engineering project managers

  • Inspects and tests equipment

  • Analyzes plans for construction and design

  • Supports customers with system diagnostic or application inquiries

  • Perform experiments related to optical metrology instrumentation

  • Design and build prototypes of planned product or equipment

  • Travel domestically or internationally (up to 20%)


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Materials Science, Systems Engineering or similar discipline preferred

  • Experience with electronic and optical equipment is a plus

  • Strong technical capabilities as well as a pragmatic, results-oriented focus

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Capacity to drive tasks to completion in a time-sensitive manner

  • Aptitude to work around technical difficulties, or promptly seek advice if necessary

  • Ability to document work completely and clearly upon completion of tasks

  • Knowledgeable in general optics

  • Experience with Excel

  • Skilled in optical component and subsystem characterizations in lab environments
