The Missouri Bar seeks an executive assistant to provide administrative support to the executive director, officers and governing board. This role also provides support to the Missouri Bar Foundation and Trustees of The Missouri Bar as well as assists with the day-to-day operations of The Missouri Bar.

The ability to interact with staff, Missouri lawyers, and the public in a fast-paced environment - sometimes under pressure - while remaining personable, adaptable, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, is crucial to this role. The ideal candidate is highly organized and tech-savvy with superb customer service and attention to detail.


Manage mailing list requests
Reconcile monthly expense reports
Make travel arrangements
Assist the executive director with maintaining calendar, scheduling meetings, and appointments
Back-up on telephone customer service for the main switchboard
Maintain correspondence files for the executive director, officers, and all noted boards
Respond to inquiries from officers and members of all named boards
Send meeting notices, prepare agendas and minutes, and distribute agendas (including electronic access) to each entity as necessary
Coordinate the annual election of the Board of Governors
Administer the Foundation’s award selection process
Administer the Foundation’s membership and development initiatives, including tracking payments and keeping roster
Track Foundation contributions and coordinate deposit of same with Accounting
Provide financial assistance by preparing monthly deposits and requesting checks for Foundation expenses and grants
Track and maintain records regarding appointments and vacancies for all named boards as well as appointments those boards make to internal and external groups
Respond to inquiries regarding persons holding such appointments and ensure groups internal and external to the bar have updated information
Other duties as assigned

Key Competencies:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat, experience with Quickbooks is a plus
Ability to operate iMIS, membership database
Superb customer service

Ability to work in a team environment
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience at an executive level preferred.
