GRANT & ADVANCEMENT WRITER

Summary Description:



Develops content for reporting to and stewarding institutional and individual funders, assembles all pertinent information to prepare grant reports for submission, serves as project manager for the grant and communications calendars, and serves as an editor for a variety of advancement communications. Researches and interprets information to accurately craft compelling stories across multiple communication channels. This positions reports to both Corporate and Foundation Relations and Advancement Communications.



Required Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications or related area plus 3 years of experience with proven grant writing, research and editing experience. Must possess strong research and attention to detail skills; excellent judgement in regards to tone, accuracy and honesty. Strong ability to draw from information accurately to convey a compelling story across multiple communication channels; ability to be flexible in communication with internal and external stakeholders; proficiency as an editor, researcher, communicator and proofreader. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills with strong collaboration skills and previous project management experience. Proficient in Microsoft suite of products.



Preferred Qualifications:



Master's degree, five years of grant writing experience, experience in higher education, experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Previous experience with content management systems for web and email platforms and in database reporting.
