Due to increased business for our IRF Coding Service we are hiring a HIM Coder. As the HIM Coder you will be a member of the coding service team and will be responsible for providing highly accurate coding of the IRF-PAI and the UB04 claim form for subscribers. We are seeking the candidate who has a proven record for accuracy in coding and thorough understanding of ICD-10 codes and related IRF regulations.



The ideal candidate has hands on inpatient rehab coding experience and understands the regulations for IRFs' A highly developed ability to review medical records to identify the etiologic diagnosis and current comorbid conditions relative to the patient's inpatient rehabilitation stay is essential. Collaboration with the UDSMR HIM Coders and the Education, Training and Consulting team to provide the highest level of coding is essential to successful and smooth operations for the UDSMR subscribers.

Our software systems used by Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (IRF) and post-acute care are based on a uniform metric that provides the basis for benchmarking and comparison of healthcare outcomes. This enables healthcare providers to document and improve the outcomes, processes and perceptions of care.



You will be working with coders and rehabilitation healthcare professionals that are knowledgeable in all aspects of the IRF. Self driven - learners who are energized by keeping abreast of the rehabilitation healthcare field with a concentration in ICD-10-CM coding and their relationship to reimbursement issues will thrive in our company.



Knowledge and skills: Associate's degree in medical coding or equivalent training acquired through at least five years of progressive on-the-job experience; health-related BS degree a plus.



A minimum of 2 years of ICD-10-CM coding experience in an IRF directly applying codes and inpatient rehabilitation prospective payment systems is required.



CCS Certified Coding Specialist



ICD-10 training certificate a plus.
