Position Summary

CTE is seeking a Human Resource (HR) Generalist with a broad knowledge of HR functions to develop and implement various HR programs. The HR Generalist will support the Director of Human Resources in carrying out the daily functions of the HR department, including employee recruitment, onboarding, and retention; administering pay, benefits, and leave; ensuring compliance with federal and state law; and enforcing company policies and procedures.

Position Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential

  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development

  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff

  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments; this may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications

  • Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with Director of HR and Senior Managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings and create/maintain job descriptions

  • Conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications

  • Assist in the coordination of new hire orientations and employee recognition programs

  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance

  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law

  • Develop and maintain organizational tools for tracking employee information

  • Develop HR reports that aid in staffing decisions

  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required

  • 3+ years of HR experience required

  • Master's degree is a plus

  • SHRM-CP certification is a plus
