The South Plains Association of Governments is looking to fill the position of Receptionist.

This responsible position involves operation of a telephone switchboard, receiving visitors, and facilitating the flow of information into and out of the organization.

Duties include receipt and direction of all telephone calls and all visitors promptly and accurately to their destination. This individual also assists with mailings, word processing, and other general clerical duties as assigned including assisting other departments with projects. Other clerical and office functions are performed as time permits.

This position requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials in local, state, and federal government. This individual will have heavy contact with the Board of Directors and the public so people skills are a must. Some knowledge of planning principles and ability to apply planning techniques a plus.


Applicants should have an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field with 3-5 years of related experience. Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher a plus. Individuals should possess the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Starting salary is $1982 per month but is commensurate with experience.
