The Town of Bolton, CT?- Secretary

Performs secretarial and office administrative work for Town’s Administration and Town Clerk. Thirty-seven hours per week starting at $19.38 per hour.?

Examples of Essential Duties:

  1. Meets the public and provides general information on Town services and cultural, social and recreational programs. Receives and processes various applications, permits and contracts.

  2. Provides secretarial services as required. Composes and types routine correspondence, reports and letters and assists in processing incoming correspondence. Assists in the organization and maintenance of files. Prepares statistical and related informational reports. Observes strict confidentiality in maintaining files and records.

  3. Prepares and submits various reports, including recycling reports. Tracks sewer authority connections and sewer use reporting.

  4. Assists in processing and sale of passes, applications and permits. Assists in the scheduling and coordination of use of Town facilities.

  5. Processes Capital Region Council of Governments bid documents and other bid documents as necessary. Orders and maintains inventory of office supplies.

  6. Receives and records land record documents and vital statistics, and files other documents as needed.

  7. Issues various licenses and receives associated fees. Issues and receives absentee ballots.

  8. Provides technical information and assistance to title searchers, attorneys and members of the public.

  9. Assists the in record management activities. Assists with special projects as requested
