About the role
Technical Web Content Intern will be a key member of the Training, Community, and Documentation organization, working to create, edit, and manage technical content on the developer.marklogic.com and docs.marklogic.com sites.
The ideal candidate will have strong written communication skills including technical writing, editing, and publishing, as well as experience or training in web design, content management systems, content strategy, SEO, web analytics/reporting, and conceptual and procedural documentation.
You will work with the extended developer community team, engineers, and other subject matter experts to produce technical assets like blogs, tutorials, and product documentation. You will work to evolve the online experience for visitors on our technical sites, while adhering to corporate standards.

• Ability to self-manage and work with a remote team.
• Familiarity with web design and content management systems.

What will you be expected to do in this role?
• Work in WordPress to create, update, and maintain web pages and blog posts in accordance with site standards and consistent with programs goals.
• Develop pages on the developer.marklogic.com website, as well as engage with website vendor partners and internal customers.
• Work to improve user and audience engagement with website content.
• Write and edit technical website content. Manage old and new website content (track bugs/ analytics/metrics, etc.). Also work on newsletters and email marketing campaigns.
• Engage with internal teams to understand website content and interaction needs.
• Troubleshoot any issues within WordPress environment.
• Assist in writing developer documentation for MarkLogic products, including explanations of complex developer tasks.
• Assist in writing API documentation, including developing code samples
• Work closely with engineers to understand the technology
• Help out with updating the tooling for documentation productions and distribution.

Basic Qualifications:
• Ability to write content targeted to a technical audience.
• Experience with editing and/or publishing with a strong attention to detail and aesthetics.
• Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills.
• Experience working with different groups of stakeholders in a remote environment.

Nice to Have:
• Currently engaged in the pursuit of higher education in a technical or business-related field.
• Basic understanding of web design best practices.
• Prior experience with web technology such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Acquainted with NoSQL technologies, databases, and search engines.
• Some working knowledge of Java, JavaScript, JSON, XQuery, XML, and/or scripting languages
• Familiarity with WordPress.
