The Department of Mathematics at Missouri State University seeks a tenure-track (9-month) Assistant Professor in statistics. The ideal candidate will have a well-defined research program in statistics that will enhance current department research interests in applied statistics, data analysis, can lend support to our program in actuarial science, and be committed to innovative teaching.

Required Qualifications: Applicants must have (or anticipate completion by August 2020) a doctoral degree in statistics or biostatistics, exhibit strong potential for research, exhibit evidence of excellence in teaching, commitment to service and professional activities, and exhibit effective oral and written communication skills. The ability to develop knowledge, respect, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required. The letter of application must include a commitment to working with diverse populations.

Duties: Teaching statistics courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels; curriculum development; engaging in research leading to peer-reviewed publications; supervising student research/projects; service to the Mathematics department, College of Natural and Applied Science, Missouri State University, the local/regional community and the profession.

Employment will require a criminal background check at University expense and submission of official transcripts.
