TRANSIT SERVICE TECHNICIANS, PARTS BUYER I, AND HOSTLERS

Looking for a career? RFTA's Bus Mechanics department is hiring Transit Service Technicians, a Parts Buyer I, and Hostlers in Aspen (some shifts Glenwood). All positions are full time, offer competitive pay, and include full benefits package (health, life, dental, vision, retirement, and ski pass). Technicians perform repairs and preventative maintenance, remove, repair, and replace parts and components. Must be proficient with mechanical tools and equipment. Parts Buyer maintains and orders parts, equipment, and supplies, work with inventory control, receiving and storage. Hostlers work includes staging, fueling, cleaning and servicing buses. Paid CDL Training. 



Transit Service Technicians Job Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Requirements:
1. Solid knowledge of electrical systems, air systems, chassis & suspension, HVAC, diesel engines & transmissions;
2. Solid knowledge of operating theory, failure diagnosis, repair, & preventive maintenance practices common to buses & heavy vehicles;
3. Solid skills working with common mechanic hand tools, pneumatic tools & diagnostic equipment;
4. Solid knowledge of OSHA & safe working practices & procedures;
5. Solid ability to read, to understand, and to use: maintenance, repair & parts manuals, computer-based maintenance information systems, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, service updates & troubleshooting guides; and
6. Basic knowledge of electrical & gas welding.



Qualifications And Job Requirements:
• Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and be able to obtain a Colorado
• Commercial Driver’s License - Class B with a P2 Permit within two (2) weeks of employment.
• Basic ability to read, write, and understand English for safety, training, certification, and documentation purposes.
• High school education or equivalent knowledge to perform job successfully.
• Competent in the use of computers and data entry ability.
• Basic ability to read, write, and understand English for safety, training, certification, and documentation purposes.
• Training and certifications necessary to perform RFTA job duties.
