Franklin University Switzerland invites applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Marketing/Management, beginning August 2025. The position is full-time, renewable, and with a clear promotion ladder.
We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in Marketing, Management, or Business Administration at the time of hire, with a clear commitment to teaching undergraduate students and a strong understanding of the North American-style liberal arts and sciences context in which students learn at Franklin.
Franklins multinational faculty, staff, and student body collaborate to create a unique learning environment in which every program forms interdisciplinary connections with the liberal arts and sciences. Therefore, the ideal candidate will have an established track record of teaching Marketing in an interdisciplinary way, connecting Marketing and Business with the liberal arts and sciences in the global context. The ideal candidate will be motivated to collaborate productively with colleagues in other areas of the curriculum, will have experience with innovative pedagogical methods including experiential project-based learning, and will be ready to forge connections between Franklins classrooms and external partners in Switzerland and beyond.
A typical teaching load is six courses per year (18 credit hours / 36-38 ECTS annually), including a course with an integrated Academic Travel component, which is a fundamental part of Franklins international, interdisciplinary, and intercultural curriculum. The successful candidate will be expected to teach across majors within the Business and Economics division, and to help evolve the curriculum to reflect emerging trends and student needs. Courses include all areas of Marketing, including Principles of Marketing, Market Research Methods, Brand Management, Consumer Behavior, Digital Marketing and Green Marketing. We are especially interested in candidates who can develop experiential learning opportunities for students, leveraging industry connections to enhance teaching and student career opportunities.
Equally important, we seek candidates who can contribute to Franklins research profile. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda, publishing in peer-reviewed journals in Marketing or related fields. Franklin encourages research collaborations both within and beyond the institution. The ideal candidate will be one whose research agenda and teaching practices mutually inform and energize one another.
Faculty responsibilities extend beyond teaching and research to include academic advising, student mentorship, and committee service. As a small institution, Franklin faculty and staff regularly collaborate on a range of issues that are essential to the well-being of the campus and the community, supporting recruitment, alumni relations, new program development, career development, and other initiatives. We seek adaptable, collegial, and engaged candidates eager to contribute in this environment to a positive and productive culture at Franklin.
Franklin University Switzerland is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive academic community. As a multinational institution, we value the richness that different cultural backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences bring to our learning environment. In alignment with Swiss principles of gender equality, we actively promote equitable opportunities and support initiatives to advance diversity in academia and leadership. We welcome applicants who share our commitment to inclusion and who will contribute to Franklins vibrant, global academic culture, in which the rights and dignity of all are respected.
The language of instruction is English, but ideally, candidates will also be conversant in one of the official languages of Switzerland. Please note that while Swiss labor regulations require preference for Swiss and EU citizens, we encourage applications from all qualified candidates and will consider all applicants based on their academic and professional merit.
To apply, please submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a teaching and research statement, and teaching evaluations, along with three references. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Send all materials as email attachments in pdf or doc/docx format to [email protected]
