The Healthcare Advisor on the Board of Directors provides strategic guidance and expertise to ensure the organization’s healthcare-related goals, policies, and operations align with industry standards, regulatory compliance, and best practices. This role involves advising on clinical, operational, and financial healthcare matters while contributing to the boards overall decision- making processes to enhance the organizations mission, vision, and impact.Key Responsibilities:Governance and Oversight:Establish and oversee the strategic direction and goals of the healthcare program.Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.Monitor organizational performance and ensure accountability for results.Policy and Decision Making:Develop and approve major policies affecting the organization.Make decisions to support the organization’s mission and strategic goals.Review and approve significant new programs and services.Financial Management:Ensure the financial sustainability of the organization.Approve budgets and monitor financial performance.Oversee financial audits and ensure transparency.Stakeholder Engagement:Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including patients, staff, and the community.Serve as a public spokesperson for the organization.Engage in fundraising and resource development activities.Leadership and Development:Select, support, and evaluate the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).Establish executive compensation and approve senior management compensation.Provide for board development, including recruitment, orientation, and mentoring.Qualifications and Skills:Educational Background:Masters degree in health administration, Business Administration, or a related fieldExperience:Previous experience in a healthcare management roleStrong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance standardsSkills:Proficiency in healthcare information systems and technologyExcellent leadership and managerial skillsEffective communication and interpersonal skills
