This position is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota will serve as an HR partner to create, promote, and maintain positive employee relations by providing advice and support to operating units in the day-to-day management of both union and non-union employee relations, including the development, implementation, and administration of both Company-wide and individual operating unit policies, procedures, and programs.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field (preferred)/or combination of education and experience in a human resources and/or employee relations role.
1 – 3 years of experience working in a Human Resources Generalist or Employee/Labor Relations role.
Experience working in a unionized environment and administering collective bargaining agreements is preferred.
Understanding of both state and federal employment law and regulations, Equal Opportunity Employment, OFCCP requirements, and ADAA.
Strong communication skills including listening, speaking and writing.
Critical thinking, organizational and analytical skills are required.
Ability to efficiently and effectively to meet given time parameters.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Strong interpersonal skills with focus on communication and problem resolution.
Strong work ethic, reliable, self-motivated with a positive attitude.
Experience with computer programs/skills: Applicant Tracking Systems, HRIS, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) and general internet applications.
Must be willing to work occasional odd hours including some evenings, and weekends.
Experience with developing and administering training programs is preferred.
Experience working with all levels of an organization preferred.
Airline or railroad industry experience is preferred.
Experience working in a multi-state environment, preferred.
PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.
