Hiring Surgical Oncology at Stanford University School Of Medicine, Palo Alto





The Department of Surgery/Division of General Surgery at the Stanford University School of Medicine seeks a fellowship-trained Surgical Oncologist to join the Section of Surgical Oncology and the Palo Alto VA Medical Center in the next year. The candidate is expected to develop a strong clinical program in complex GI oncologic surgery. This position will be based partly at the main Stanford Hospital campus with a clinical focus on gastric, sarcoma and peritoneal surface malignancies and partly at the Palo Alto VA Medical Center with a clinical focus on pancreas, liver, gastric and colorectal surgical oncology.

The position will be at the Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor level in the Clinician Educator Line (CE) at Stanford University. The major criterion for appointment for Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administration and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Applicants must be board-eligible/certified in General Surgery and have completed a fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology. The successful candidate is expected to have excellent clinical skills and collaborative abilities. A history of preclinical or clinical research productivity is desired.

Salary Range:

Clinical Assistant Professor: $357,000 – $387,000

Clinical Associate Professor: $418,000 – $460,000

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It may not include all components of faculty compensation or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
