Are you ready to lead and inspire the next generation of veterinary technicians? We are thrilled to offer a full-time opportunity for the Program Director of our new Veterinary Technician Program, starting July 1, 2025. We are currently seeking initial accreditation throughAVMACVTEA.

As the Program Director, you will shape the future of veterinary education in Montana. Most instruction will be online, with hands-on labs and clinicals conducted with veterinary partners across Montana. You will have the authority and support to drive the programs success. Your responsibilities include developing, implementing, and evaluating the program, supervising faculty, clinicals, and staff, and ensuring accreditation standards are met. This position also involves some teaching and reports to the Health Science Division Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an assessment process that measures student achievement and includes measuring program student learning outcomes that meetsAVMACVTEArequirements.
  • Maintain current educational methodology concepts consistent with teaching assignments. Teach 4-6 credits a semester.
  • Facilitate faculty meetings, hold weekly office hours, and participate in program related events outside of daily job duties.
  • Participate on college committees and in college activities including managing theGFCIACUCcommittee.
  • Collaborate with collogues and veterinary offices across the state.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Licensed veterinarian or a credentialed veterinary technician who graduated from anAVMAorAVMACVTEAaccredited program.
  2. Must have or be able to acquire an active Montana license and have three years of clinical experience.
  3. Demonstrated experience in basic education theory, instructional design, and/or methodology.
  4. Demonstrated supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with online learning and instructional technology.
  2. Demonstrated experience working within an accreditedAVMACVTEAveterinarian technical program.
  3. Relevant knowledge of or experience serving on anIACUC.
  4. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  5. Experience with curriculum development.
