We are looking for a mid- to senior copywriter to write clear, concise, clever and strategic copy to support brand storytelling, print and digital design and strategic communications for manufacturing, healthcare and social impact organizations who are working to make the world a better place. The position is in-person and Chicago-based. You will work from the office 3 days per week.
We are looking at part-time (20-30 hours per week) for 60 days after which, if we’re a fit, you will be hired full-time.
AS A TEAM MEMBER YOU WILL
- write copy for marketing collateral, websites, digital placements
- write core messaging and narratives that anchor new brands/brand updates
- take core messaging and use it to develop copy across channel
- write clever, sharp, creative and engaging social media content
- interview customers and users to ghostwrite articles and thought pieces
- write scripts and outlines to support and guide video production
- consider unique linguistic, cultural and social dimension to write for diverse audiences
- support our strategy team by editing copy so it is in alignment with brand personality
- collaborate with our creative team on design; providing on-the-fly suggestions and ideas
- deliver copy in documents, artifacts and formats that make design and development easy
- review and digest strategic assets in order to understand business and organizational objectives
- work with and for amazing people and organizations

WE WANT YOU TO HAVE

experience
- 5-10 years of experience writing copy for marketing materials, digital, video
- extensive experience collaborating with designers
- an understanding of and experience working in or with the social impact sector (corporate and private philanthropy, non-profit, civic, etc.)
- a significant amount of experience in the B2B/corporate/strategic communications space (vs. B2C)
- a university/college degree, preferably in marketing, communications, branding or another related field

- A minimum of two (2) examples of crafting brand narratives
- Extensive examples developing clear, concise language that served to inform market positioning and (internally) the development of copy across materials.
